This drawing is inspired on Renaissance portraits. They have a static, stiff feeling, nonetheless they are very elegant, and that's what I wanted to reflect in this.
This noble young boy is all purity and innocence, with symbols of immaculacy, such as angels and a unicorn, all around him. I also wanted to depict a more antique look for the unicorn (unlike the way they're usually represented nowadays, they had very long horns and a lion-like tail in antique paintings and tapestries).
I used colour pencils (some of them being watercolour) and ball pens on 250g paper. Size is A4, but I really should start working on bigger formats, seeing how working with delicate details is difficult on a small paper.
